A beautiful crane was observed taking off from the pond (last two photos on the right), but
when we attempted to position ourselves by backing up along the roadway, it was a moment missed.
Temperatures beginning to drop and the sun beginning to set, we captured a few more
pictures of this wet snow as we approached the U.S. Weather Bureau's covered-dome radar
tower. (See Last Day of Spring - Part II of what this same area looks like in the Spring).
No green grass here as these cattle forge their way in a wooded area adjacent to our exiting
the roadway.
