Exiting Interstate-70 on the East edge of Kansas City, Missouri at the Paseo exit and
then South to the area of 21st Street, and a block or so East to the intersection of
21st and Vine is an area of some very old buildings.
Two buildings across the street of similar structure are a former water works and maintenance facility.
Most of the roof and floor area within this "Castle in Kansas City" have deteriorated and fallen into the
structure. And while most of the entranceways were boarded up, we were able to get a glimpse
through several openings. As an added attraction to this area, Paseo Boulevard is undergoing a lot
of old building renovation and general neighborhood improvement projects.
